CAREGIVER PERMISSION
Every single one of our studies requires that at least one student participant's caregiver give permission for them to be a part of a study. You can give permission by signing a paper or electronic form, the options available depend upon the particular study that your child has been asked to be a part of.
You can always confirm that you have given permission by contacting us, or the person that is leading that particular study. When you sign up for a study, you should have the option to get a copy of your permission form so that you can have easy access to the following:
- The name of the primary investigator (PI; the person leading the study).
- How to revoke your permission/consent for your student to participate in the study.
- The goals, risks, and benefits of the research study.
- How to learn more about the results of the study.
Thank you for allowing your student research participant. Once you have given permission, they will be contacted by the research team for next steps for the study. Depending upon the study you signed your child up for, this may be something that they do while they are at school, or something that they do with you at home. The permission form that you signed, or the information that accompanied the permission form, should have information about next steps.
